We bought a used RV "as is" from Dandy RV in Anniston AL three years ago knowing it had some stuff that needed fixing.A bad title wasn't one of them, however.
After owning it a year and not receiving the title, we got a letter saying we needed to get it inspected by a police officer to verify the vin number. We tried several different officers, local, county and state, and none could do it. They told us it had to go back to GA where it was titled before and they would straighten it out. We contacted Dandy RV where we bought it from, and they said they would do whatever was required to make it right.
They said they would help us out on the gas since we lived so far away, 150 miles. Due to a engine failure, we had to wait another year before we could take it to them. They again told us they would help out on the gas, pay one way of the trip for us. We carried the motor home to them and left it for two weeks for them to get it inspected.
When we went back to get it, we were told, "No gas. We put $40 in to take it to GA and back and we're not putting any more in." It took more than $40 of gas for them to go there and back! And if that lie wasn't big enough, we asked them about a used RV that they had listed on their website. We were considering trading up to a newer, larger model.
It was listed for $10,000 on the web site, they said they would trade with us for $14,000! Liars and cheats I tell you! I would not recommend buying anything from these folks! Oh, we got our title three weeks after we got back home.
I've never done business with ANY dealer that doesn't check a title against the vin on a vehicle BEFORE they take it in on trade or try to sell it.They may have a big fancy lot and showroom, but the people running it are not very smart or just want your money.
